What can I do if I'm afraid to die from sleep apnea, but deathly afraid of wearing a sleep Apnea mask?

I couldn’t wear the mask that goes over the mouth and nose. It personally freaked me out. Look at the nasal pillows.. I use them. It only took me about 30 minutes to get used to breathing through my nose and realizing I was getting enough air. I have friend who uses them and mouth tape to keep her mouth closed while sleeping. Nope not going there. Plus I’m allergic to adhesive. But again I didn’t find it a problem with the nasal pillows
